Nicki Minaj isn't going to appear this week at the V Festival in the United Kingdom. The artist is claiming that her vocal cords have been damaged and that she has to back out of the show. Her reps are saying she has "strained vocal cords," making her no good for giving concerts.
Minaj just finished performing in New York City, where she gave a free concert. Her doctors had told her to rest, but she didn't listen. Now, she's paying the price in England. X-rays are showing that she has to rest for a few days because her voice is worse than it was before.
The festival was set to last for two days, and featured other groups such as The Killers, David Guetta, LMFAO and The Stone Roses. In New York, Nicki performed with Drake, Lil Wayne and Foxy Brown.
Nicki originally hails from Trinidad and moved to New York City when she was five years old. She lived in Queens for most of her life, where she was trained as an actress. Her last album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," sold over one million copies.
