A middle-aged couple living in Suffolk has clinched the second largest ever prize in the EuroMillions lottery. Adrian Bayford and wife Gillian, who are in their 40s, won a total of £148.6 million in Friday's lottery draw.

Speaking at a media briefing, Gillian said she thought her husband was joking when he told her about the win, till she saw the figures for herself. "I checked the numbers on my phone, the TV, the internet," she said. "And we just looked at each other and giggled."

She however isn't planning on changing her spending habits due to this new fortune. "I find it hard to take in the actual quantity of it," she said. "I'm Scottish, we're known for being tight, I'll still be hitting the sales."

Husband Adrian is a second-hand record dealer and co-owns Suffolk Music Centre in Haverhill with his business partner Richard Hudspith. Acccording to Hudspith's father, Peter, the business might be expanding soon. "They have not really been out to celebrate because Adrian is in a state of shock," he said. "I think they have spoken about maybe expanding the business now. Like a lot of small businesses in the current climate, they have just been doing their best to get by. Second hand records were always Adrian's speciality. But the business has branched into musical instruments and DVDs too."
