Over the past week, headlines have carried the story of the feud between American Idol judges Mariah Carey & Nicki Minaj. And seeing as the hatefest continues, experts have suggested one or both or them might end up leaving the show.
Singer Mariah Carey has hired extra security following an outburst by Nicki Minaj, when the YMCMB rapper used brutal remarks like "Off with your head", "I'll knock you out"' and even threatened to shoot her.
And while Idols producers FOX TV may not be able to force both artistes to continue as judges, but if they quit, they should be ready for some huge lawsuits for damages that will result from their quitting, including the cost of finding a replacement, interruption in the program schedule, negative publicity, etc.
Another expert added that Mariah Carey could be able to quit the show without paying damages, if she claims a legitimate concern for her safety. If she's successful, then Nicki Minaj would have to pay the damages.
FOX TV however refused to comment on the controversy, saying, "This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we have ever had… Despite all the accusations and media speculations – most of which is inaccurate – production is going extremely well."
