Ngozi Nwosu Is HIV Positive.. – E247

Contrary to reports in some quarters that Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu is down with kidney problems, a popular entertainment magazine -E247 Entertainment reports that the actress is actually down with HIV.

 Here is what E247 wrote

The story that Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is critically ill is no more an issue. What is the boggling is the ailment she is suffering from. Following E24-7 magazine's report in our story, HELP! NGOZI NWOSU IS DYING, published October1-7,2012, our office was inundated with several calls from fans, spiritualists and curious readers but recently a more shocking revelation on the true situation of the health of the once robust and beautiful actress who has over the last two months gone into recluse was disclosed. The source who pleaded anonymity and was formerly in the service of the Nigerian Medical Research Center, Yaba, Lagos as a nurse hinted she's HIV positive.
According to the source who was one of Ngozi`s medical counselors at the NMR, "Ngozi has been on medical surveillance since 2010. She is what I will call an HIV positive patient. Her kidney problem is as a result of her HIV complications. She used to visit the center on Wednesdays but we have not seen her for some time now"

Asked why Ngozi took off and shunned medical treatment, the source said, "Ngozi is a stubborn patient. I used to advise her to stop drinking and smoking as these habits won`t speed up her healing process fast. Worst of all, she does not take her drugs righteously. When a patient with HIV refuses to take recommended retro-viral drugs the person cannot get better. That is her problem.
Mind you when she visited the center not quite before I left we found out her DN4 was so low that we immediately raised an alarm and told her to be cautious of her her health situations and advised her to do better in taking her drugs as required."
The source also revealed that some of Ngozi`s problem to her not getting well may be psychological, "You see when a patient has a troubled love life like Ngozi things will hardly get going for her. She is not a happy woman, having no husband and child, so her thoughts will always be negative and that will cause her more bad than good.
She needs to retrace her steps to finding her healing and that is if she is not already a full AIDS patient." Currently, Ngozi has kept away from public glare while some of her friends and movie colleagues are seeking financial assistance for her treatment. There are indications she has moved to neighbouring Cotonou, Benin Republic where her former husband comes from as her aides and handlers claimed during enquiry on phone. More troubling, are Ngozi`s recent pictures where she looks gaunt and pale. She has since neglected public functions and stopped appearing at movie locations.

‘There is no truth in the story’ – Kemi Adetiba denies EFCC arrest

Popular TV host and video director Kemi Adetiba has denied the reports going around that she was recently arrested by the officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over her involvement in a N15m tussle with a Lagos based church.

In an exclusive correspondence with us, Adetiba says there is 'no truth in the story' and that the article written by the Nigerian Enquirer magazine was made to 'to tarnish her reputation'.

'It has been brought to my attention that Nigerian Enquirer magazine published an article designed and calculated to tarnish my reputation. I want to say most emphatically that there is no truth in the story', Adetiba told us.

'I therefore serve notice to one and all, that no stone will be left unturned to seek justice from this clear case of libel. My lawyers have been instructed to institute legal action against all concerned. I thank friends and well wishers for their concern and support', she added.

The report had stated that Adetiba was taken in by the EFCC over 'her involvement in a N15m belonging to a church in Gbagada area of Lagos'. The report also stated that she also had to 'beg the officials of the EFCC to allow her host the show (Maltina DanceHall Season 6) promising she will sort out the debt as soon as she finished the show'.

Adetiba, a former OAP at Rhythm 93.7FM is the current host of Maltina DanceHall. She is also a video director credited for videos such as Bez's 'More you', TY Bello's 'The Future' and Omawumi's 'Today na today'.

E-mails sent to the EFCC have not be responded to as at the time of filing this report.

‘Grow Up’, GT Da Guitarman Tells Olisa Adibua

GT quit Storm Records in June 2011, after he complained he wasn't receiving the desired attention and claiming the label had delayed the release of his debut album for years.

The album was finally released, but he parted ways with the label shortly after, a move which caused some controversy, as Storm claimed he was still under contract.

GT, who shared his views via social network Twitter, said: "As ma radio presenter former boss no wan gree play my song for station wey no be him papa own..Grow up boss", another reads: "My outlook on life is soo different now mehn..if u r God I can kiss ur a*s..if u r not, na kick to ur a*s o.."

Although he didn't mention any names, the description clearly points to Olisa, who is also the Programs Director at Beat FM.

Going by GT's last comment, he appears ready to go physical with his former boss.

Performing at BBC Radio 1xtra Live on November 12th will be: Tulisa, Trey Songz, Angel, Kendrick Lamar and WizKid.

The announcement was made on-air at BBC Radio 1xtra tonight, October 22nd, by the infamous MistaJam during his show. Still no hints towards the other three evenings of live entertainment that will all be part of the big 1xtra event in November though, but I am sure we can expect updates in the near future, maybe even tomorrow.

Tonto Dike, Helen Paul Win Afro Hollywood Awards

Winners have emerged in the 17th African Film Awards 2012 a.k.a Afro Hollywood Awards at a special ceremony held in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria recently. Sultry actresses, Tonto Dike and Helen Paul were some of the winners of the awards organised by African Voice Newspaper, UK.

The high point of the event was when a new acting talent, Kiki Omeili of Married But Living Single was adjudged winner of Best Actress in supporting role in an English language film. She defeated Oge Okoye and Nse Ikpe Etim while Tonto Dike emerged Best Actress of the year, defeating Omoni Oboli and Chika Ike.

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Governorship candidate in Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, assisted by his deputy Dr. Paul Akintelure, announced and presented certificates of excellence to the winners in each award category.

The winners will be attending the prestigious annual awards slated for 3 November in London. Mr. Akeredolu was full of praises for the African Film Awards' organisers and the winners of the awards.

"I'm happy Governor Rauf Aregbesola supports you. To our artistes here tonight, your endorsement means a lot to us, your presence at our campaigns mean a lot to us. A lot of people come to our campaigns because they want to see you, listen to you.

"Nigerians are adjudged the happiest people in the world because our artistes make us happy. Our youths maintain their sanity because of our artistes, despite the failure of successive visionless governments.

In the Best Actor Yoruba Language films category, Femi Adebayo also defeated Odunlade Adekola and Gabriel Afolayan to emerge the winner.

The winner of the African Actor of the Year will be announced in London at a glamorous ceremony. The contest is between Joseph Benjamin of Nigeria (Tango With Me), Van Vicker of Ghana and one of South Africa's leading actors, Jafta Mamabolo (famed for his role in Otelo Burning).

Prince Mike Abiola, publisher of African Voice Newspaper UK and Chairman of the awards organisation, said, "I am so pleased with the result of the distinguished and independent panel of film critics who endeavoured to watch many Nollywood films to arrive at the winners. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

The power of determination (true story)

The true story about athlete Glenn Cunningham who was horribly burned in a schoolhouse fire at the age of 8. Doctors predicted he would never walk again. Determined to walk, Glenn would throw himself off his wheelchair and pull his body across the yard and along a fence. Twenty-two months later, he took his first steps and through sheer determination, learned to run despite the pain…

The little country schoolhouse was heated by an old-fashioned, pot-bellied coal stove. A little boy had the job of coming to school early each day to start the fire and warm the room before his teacher and his classmates arrived.

One morning they arrived to find the schoolhouse engulfed in flames. They dragged the unconscious little boy out of the flaming building more dead than alive. He had major burns over the lower half of his body and was taken to a nearby county hospital.

From his bed the dreadfully burned, semi-conscious little boy faintly heard the doctor talking to his mother. The doctor told his mother that her son would surely die – which was for the best, really – for the terrible fire had devastated the lower half of his body.

But the brave boy didn't want to die. He made up his mind that he would survive. Somehow, to the amazement of the physician, he did survive. When the mortal danger was past, he again heard the doctor and his mother speaking quietly. The mother was told that since the fire had destroyed so much flesh in the lower part of his body, it would almost be better if he had died, since he was doomed to be a lifetime cripple with no use at all of his lower limbs.

Once more the brave boy made up his mind. He would not be a cripple. He would walk. But unfortunately from the waist down, he had no motor ability. His thin legs just dangled there, all but lifeless.

Ultimately he was released from the hospital. Every day his mother would massage his little legs, but there was no feeling, no control, nothing. Yet his determination that he would walk was as strong as ever.

When he wasn't in bed, he was confined to a wheelchair. One sunny day his mother wheeled him out into the yard to get some fresh air. This day, instead of sitting there, he threw himself from the chair. He pulled himself across the grass, dragging his legs behind him.

He worked his way to the white picket fence bordering their lot. With great effort, he raised himself up on the fence. Then, stake by stake, he began dragging himself along the fence, resolved that he would walk. He started to do this every day until he wore a smooth path all around the yard beside the fence. There was nothing he wanted more than to develop life in those legs.

Ultimately through his daily massages, his iron persistence and his resolute determination, he did develop the ability to stand up, then to walk haltingly, then to walk by himself – and then – to run.

He began to walk to school, then to run to school, to run for the sheer joy of running. Later in college he made the track team.

Still later in Madison Square Garden this young man who was not expected to survive, who would surely never walk, who could never hope to run – this determined young man, Dr. Glenn Cunningham, ran the world's fastest mile**!

By senior year, set a world record for the mile of 4:06.8 and held seven of the top 13 fastest recorded times for the mile.

In 1936, voted "Most Popular Athlete" by his fellow athletes.

He went on to earn a master's degree from University of Iowa and later a doctorate from New York University.

While in New York, won 21 of 31 races at Madison Square Gardens and set an indoor mile record there in 1938.  His fastest mile time was 4:04.4 at a Dartmouth track meet in 1938.

When the 1940 Olympics were cancelled, he retired from his running career and taught at Cornell College in Iowa.

During World War II, he served two years in the Navy.

Spent the remainder of his life running the Glenn Cunningham Youth Ranch for troubled kids in Kansas, USA.  It is estimated that he and his wife raised around 9,000 kids on their ranch in the years until his death in 1988.

Nollywood actress turned singer, Tonto Dikeh, has been in the news in the last few days as a result of two singles, Itz Ova and Hi which were greeted with widespread criticism.

But away from scandals and controversies that have trailed the 27-year-old singer, here are 10 quick facts about Dikeh.

1- A native of Ikwere, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Dikeh was born on June 9, 1985 and is a Petro-Chemical Engineering graduate of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers-State.

2- Having lost her mother when she was just three years old she was raised by her step-mother and has seven siblings.

3- Dikeh began smoking at age of 13 and in May announced that she had quit smoking on Twitter claiming that the prayer of Pastor T.B Joshua through his Christian TV station, Emmanuel TV, healed her.

4- Her breakthrough role came in 2006 when she starred in the movie, Holy Cross. Although her second movie, it ensured that she became the sought-after actress at that time.

5- Her role in the 2010 soft porn movie, Dirty Secret, remains her most controversial till date as it contained a lot of uncensored nude and sex scenes. She later starred in similar flicks like Dirty Deeds and Strippers in love.

6- In September 2011, Dikeh bought a jeep for her father, Chief Sunny Dikeh. According to her, her dad, who once campaigned to be the Governor in Rivers State under the All Nigerian Peoples Party was initially not in support of her acting career.

7- In October, 2011, the sassy actress got her 57th tattoo during a visit to the US.

8-In August, Tonto Dike and fellow actress, Rukky Sanda, made a joint donation of N1m to a cancer patient, Fummi Lawal. In the same month, she beat Ini Edo, and fellow nominee in the Best Actor of the Year category, at the Future Awards 2012 to win the coveted award.

9-In February 2011, she was alleged to be in a steamy relationship with Wizkid and reportedly bought him a Toyota Camry after he lost his cars to robbers. Both parties denied the allegations

TRUE LIFE STORY : The Smell of Rain

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the Doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. Still groggy from surgery, her husband David held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news. That afternoon of March 10,1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24 weeks pregnant, to Danae Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature. Still, the doctor's soft words dropped like bombs. I don't think she's going to make it, he said, as kindly as he could. "There's only a 10 percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one." Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Danae would likely face if she survived. She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on. "No! No!" was all Diana could say. She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four. Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away.

Through the dark hours of morning as Danae held onto life by the thinnest thread, Diana slipped in and out of sleep, growing more and more determined that their tiny daughter would live, and live to be a healthy, happy young girl. But David, fully awake and listening to additional dire details of their daughter's chances of ever leaving the hospital alive, much less healthy, knew he must confront his wife with the inevitable. David walked in and said that we needed to talk about making funeral arrangements. Diana remembers, 'I felt so bad for him because he was doing everything, trying to include me in what was going on, but I just wouldn't listen, I couldn't listen. I said, "No, that is not going to happen, no way! I don't care what the doctors say; Danae is not going to die! One day she will be just fine, and she will be coming home with us!"

As if willed to live by Diana's determination, Danae clung to life hour after hour, with the help of every medical machine and marvel her miniature body could endure. But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana. Because Danae's under-developed nervous system was essentially raw, the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn't even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love. All they could do, as Danae struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl. There was never a moment when Danae suddenly grew stronger.

But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there. At last, when Danae turned two months old, her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time. And two months later-though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero. Danae went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Today, five years later, Danae is a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life. She shows no signs, what so ever, of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she is everything a little girl can be and more-but that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving, Texas, Danae was sitting in her mother's lap in the bleachers of a local ballpark where her brother Dustin's baseball team was practicing. As always, Danae was chattering non-stop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent. Hugging her arms across her chest, Danae asked, "Do you smell that?" Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, "Yes, it smells like rain." Danae closed her eyes and again asked, "Do you smell that?" Once again, her mother replied, "Yes, I think we're about to get wet, it smells like rain. Still caught in the moment, Danae shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, "No, it smells like Him. It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest." Tears blurred Diana's eyes as Danae then happily hopped down to play with the other children.

Before the rains came, her daughter's words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along. During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Danae on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

Funke Akindele Speaks On Controversies Surrounding Her Husband

"My huband has never been married," Actress Funke Akindele insists in response to much of the hearsay about her marriage to Almaroof.

"I am the woman he got married to. I was married properly. Alot of negative comments came from sadists who want to run their mouths. So because I am a Youth Ambassador or Celebrity, I can't have my life?

It is my life. If I do things because people want me to, I will end up unhappy. I do what I do because I want to be happy. I would still continue to teach morals and campaign against HIV/AIDS and enlighten the youths.

It doesn't make me bad; that is even if it is, because I can tell you authoritatively that my husband is not married to anyone else.

Yes, he has beautiful children, who are not mine now and we have a cordial relationship, which dates back to even before we got married. So what if he has kids? Is that a disease? That is where my heart is!

I had many non-biological children even before I got married.

I take them as my own children, pay their bills and help them. I have always loved children. So now that God has given me these ones, what should I do?

Will people be happier if I had married someone who didn't have children, seem so perfect, put on my make-up and fake smile on the red carpet and start weeping when I get home?'

Maturity is humility. It is being big enough to say, "I was wrong." And, when he/she is right, the mature person need not experience the satisfaction of saying, "I told you so."

Maturity is the ability to live up to your responsibilities, and this means being dependable. It means keeping your word. Dependability is the hallmark of integrity. Do you mean what you say-and do you say what you mean? Unfortunately, the world is filled with people who cannot be counted on. When you need them most, they are among the missing. They never seem to come through in the clutches. They break promises and substitute alibis for performance. They show up late or not at all. They are confused and disorganized. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel marry in Italy

"It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends," the couple said in a statement released Friday to People magazine.

Biel spokeswoman Meredith O'Sullivan Wasson confirmed the report.

The 31-year-old Timberlake and 30-year-old Biel were wed in southern Italy. The couple got engaged in December after dating for several years.

Top Ten Nollywood Stars Who Failed in Their Attempt at Music

They are part of the movers and shakers of the motion picture industry, and their immense contribution to what is today celebrated as Nollywood cannot be underestimated. When they decided to spread their tentacles to the music industry, one would naturally hope that their ready-made fame in moviedom will pave the way, but surprisingly, their achievements as actors could not make the difference for them in the music industry.

Naij.com decided to make a countdown of the Nollywood stars who flopped in music. We are counting down from Number 10 to Number 1. Enjoy below...

10) OMOTOLA JALADE-EKEINDE:



She is one of the best and celebrated Nollywood diva. She is highly successful as an actress, but several attempts by the beautiful wife of pilot Mathew Ekeinde at music has been nothing to write home about, despite being an established celebrity. She was one of the thespians that tried their luck in music in 2005 after they were banned by the then Ejike Asiegbu led AGN regime. In that year, she released a single entitled Gba, and was followed by a video and album. But despite the massive hype, the album was indeed a failure. She has released another album and songs like Missing You and Feel Alright, but yet, she has made little or no impact in the music industry.

9) GENEVIEVE NNAJI:

Genny, as she is fondly called, is the most celebrated Nollywood actress both in Nigeria and abroad. In 2005 after she was also suspended from acting, Genevieve also took a shot on music with the release of the song No More. She went on to get a mouthwatering recording deal in Ghana, but it wasn't even enough to make her a force to reckon with in the music industry. She is one of those Nollywood stars who failed in their attempt at music.

8) ANITA JOSEPH:

Until early this year when she announced that she was now a born again Christian, Anita was hitherto referred to as a Nollywood bad girl. Though she was enmeshed in a lot of controversies, Anita has proved her mettle as one of the future talents in Nollywood. Between the years 2008/2009, she released a single and consequently performed in a couple of shows, including the News of The People Awards held at Sheraton Hotels, Lagos. Even at that, she is yet to make any spectacular statement as a singer. She dropped two new gospel singles, claiming that God directed her to do so during the fuel subsidy removal nationwide strike.

7) JIM IYKE:

The list of wannabe Nollywood singers will not be complete without the name of controversial actor, Jim Iyke. The former Globacom ambassador also romanced music when he released the song, Who Am I, featuring one of Nigeria's finest, Tuface Idibia. Jim, whose genre of music is rap, was actually keen on making a statement musically and he spent a fortune on radio and television hypes. Yet, his music career was short of being a success. The actor also did another entitled Born To Do This and featured Mike Word and Puffy T on it, but it did not make any good impact either.

6) NKEM OWOH (Osuofia):

Popularly referred to as Osuofia, Nkem Owoh is a highly successful actor. At a time, he was the highest paid Nollywood actor, raking millions from every script that comes his way, but when he decided to grab the microphone and consequently released the song, I Go Chop Your Dollar, it was not on a bed of roses. The audio and video of the song were banned on air due to its lyrical content. Osuofia went ahead to record another song, Olamma, but it was also short of being a success.

5) COSSY ORJIAKOR:

Though this naturally endowed actress has a sonorous voice, it was obviously not enough to give her a hit in the music industry. She has recorded a couple of songs and also shot videos, but they were not enough to guaranty her musical success. One of her songs is entitled Me and You.

4) JOHN OKAFOR (Mr Ibu):

Otherwise known as Mr. Ibu, John is a highly skilled and successful actor who has carved a niche for himself. Regarded as one of the most hilarious actors in Nigeria, Mr. Ibu has severally claimed that he has a good singing voice. He actually released an audio/video album some years back, but it cannot be regarded as a success. He had since stick to his original talent-acting.

3) SHAN GEORGE:

She is an actress of note, but like her colleagues, Shan's attempts at making hits through music have so far been futile. She has an album and has performed in a couple of gigs, including the annual Felabration. For obvious reasons, she is one of the movie stars who could not make impact as singers.

2) LILIAN BACH:

The half-caste actress, had also tried her hands in music, but she was quick enough to withdraw, perhaps after realising that it was a tough terrain for her. (Nollywood wannabe singers learn from her)

1) TONTO DIKEH:

#ALUU4 Update: 3 Killers Confess (What Really Happened)

13 members of Aluu community have been arrested in connection with the killings so far. Three of the suspects however spoke to pressmen and recounted their roles in the lynchings/eventual murder. David Chinasa Ugbaje (30) said a policeman joined in beating the youths; another was pleading that they be released.

Ugbaje said;

"Around 7 am, I left my house. I dressed up to go to work. On my street, I saw a crowd of people with four unclad boys, who were being led into my compound, No. 9, Royal Villa in Omuokiri-Aluu. I said what was the problem and they said the boys were armed robbers. I said that is my compound, let us go and see the person, if he is their member or let them point the particular person, who is their member they were going to look for". Click to continue.

"I opened the gate, they entered. A crowd of people that I could not control. They entered the compound. They pointed to the room of one of our co-tenants, whose name is Bright. They said one of the boys was staying with Bright. When they got there, Bright's door was locked. Some people wanted to break the door".

"They started beating the boys. Very serious. Along the line, two policemen came around. One of the policemen was pleading. The other policeman joined in beating the boys and later said the crowd should hand over the boys to them, but the crowd said 'no'. 'We no go gree, we no go gree'.

"As the policemen were leaving, they said whatever this thing was going to bring, you would bear the result. Since I live in the yard, I said if I stayed there and the people were killed, automatically, the house would be in trouble. We are now in trouble. I brought out my belt; I started flogging people and asked them to leave the yard. I was beating the people (crowd) very seriously".

"One Ikwerre man in the crowd asked why I was beating the crowd for the boys to be moved from our yard. I continued to beat the crowd to carry the boys to where they brought them from. I drove them out of our compound and gate. They injured me in my hand, when I was trying to open the gate".

"I started flogging for them to leave. There is water in our (house's) frontage. They went there and soaked the boys (four) inside the water. I discovered that one of the boys was my customer on campus, at the University of Port Harcourt, where I work. He was an Igbo student. I asked the boy: are you a student?

"If you watch the video, you will see me where I held belt, asking the boy. The boy told me 'no', that he was not a student (of UNIPORT). Quite all right, I knew him very well. He once bought slippers from me and used to repair slippers from me. I am a shoemaker at UNIPORT".

Maybe the boy was afraid to tell me he was a student. There was nothing I could do because of the crowd. If I talked more than that, they could join me with them.

"The beating was going on, here and there. At the end, they finally moved the boys out of my street. I then went out. My wife has just been delivered of a baby."

On his role in the lynching of the four students, Ugbaje said: "I flogged the boys twice."

Amadi, alias Kapoon,'s role

"I live at No. 9. Royal Villa in Omuokiri-Aluu. I am from Ikwerre. I work at UNIPORT. I am a printer. I do photocopying and binding. In the morning on that day, I dressed up, as usual, so that I could go to my work. When I came out at the junction, so that I could pick a bike, I saw a crowd of people, with four boys. They were unclad, with tyres on their necks".

"I shifted a bit, but to verify what was happening, they told me the four boys came to rob. I asked where they were taking them to. They said they were taking them to No. 9, where I live".

They said they mentioned one of our neighbours. That they came to look for him as well.

"I followed the crowd. Before I reached my estate, they had already reached the house with the four boys in front of my neighbour, Bright, from Ogoni. They said they were looking for one of the boys. Before they came, the back door was locked. Some of the people in the crowd said they were going to break the back door. Others said no, they should leave the door, since Bright was not around. At the end, they started beating the boys".
"They started beating the boys. In the process of beating the boys, policemen came, but they said no, they were not going to leave the four boys. I called this my neighbour (David Chinasa Ugbaje), with other neighbours, that we were not going to allow that kind of thing to take place in our estate that we would be in trouble.

"This my neighbour (Ugbaje) collected his belt. I collected a small stick, and we started chasing people, flogging everybody, to take the boys out of our yard. We started pushing everybody out, including the four students. They left their tyres, I said they should take their tyres out of the yard and we locked our gate.

"I flogged everybody, including the four boys, for everybody to go out. I beat one of the four boys twice and the other one, I beat once.

Segun said:

"My name is Segun Lawal. I am from Osun State. I live in Omuokiri-Aluu. I was in the house, around 6:30 am to 7 am. I am a taxi driver. I saw a crowd and I parked my car outside. I saw a police vehicle coming and I followed the police. I saw four policemen. I saw the policemen enter the gate".

"As I reached the gate, they were beating the boys. I had to raise my hands up, to defend the boys. If you watch the video, you will see it. I wore blue polo shirt. I started pleading for the crowd not to kill the four boys. They did not listen".

"The Policemen left immediately. I had to leave. As I left, I went to GRA (Port Harcourt); one of my customers called that I should take him to Obudu Cattle Ranch (in Cross River State).

"I came back on Saturday night (October 6). I was in my house. Policemen came to arrest me. I never had this type of experience. I told the police that I was not around. That I traveled to Obudu. I did not beat the four boys." Read More

“My mother had nine of us but seven died as infants” – President Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan, Wednesday, in Abuja said he was the only surviving son out of the nine children delivered by his mother. He said all his other siblings except his sister died as infants.

He reportedly made this revelation at the United Nations Commission on Life-Saving Commodities meeting currently holding in Abuja, Nigeria.

According to Jonathan: "My mother had nine of us but seven died as infants with myself and my sister surviving… I'm alive today by God's hand.

"My late siblings would have by now grown up to become very beautiful women and handsome men."

He explained that his dedication to arresting infant mortality comes from being the lone male survivor of his mother's nine children.

The president explained the key objectives of the initiative saying, "We have initiated the Saving One Million Lives Programme with the objective of saving one million lives by 2015 through equitable and concrete utilization of quality cost-effective basic health services.

"The programme clearly identified the needs for concrete access and the appropriate use of medical devices and commodities that can save lives.

He said the Federal Government would spend $33.44m in the next four years for the procurement of additional reproductive health commodities, representing a 300 per cent domestic funding increase.

He added that $500m would be set aside over the next four years for maternal, new born and child health intervention under the Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme.

Father was a hardworking man who delivered bread as a living to support his wife and three children. He spent all his evenings after work attending classes, hoping to improve himself so that he could one day find a better paying job. Except for Sundays, Father hardly ate a meal together with his family. He worked and studied very hard because he wanted to provide his family with the best money could buy.

Whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned that he was doing all this for them. But he often yearned to spend more time with his family.

The day came when the examination results were announced. To his joy, Father passed, and with distinctions too! Soon after, he was offered a good job as a senior supervisor which paid handsomely.

Like a dream come true, Father could now afford to provide his family with life's little luxuries like nice clothing, fine food and vacation abroad.

However, the family still did not get to see father for most of the week. He continued to work very hard, hoping to be promoted to the position of manager. In fact, to make himself a worthily candidate for the promotion, he enrolled for another course in the open university.

Again, whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned that he was doing all this for them. But he often yearned to spend more time with his family.

Father's hard work paid off and he was promoted. Jubilantly, he decided to hire a maid to relieve his wife from her domestic tasks. He also felt that their three-room flat was no longer big enough, it would be nice for his family to be able to enjoy the facilities and comfort of a condominium. Having experienced the rewards of his hard work many times before, Father resolved to further his studies and work at being promoted again. The family still did not get to see much of him. In fact, sometimes Father had to work on Sundays entertaining clients. Again, whenever the family complained that he was not spending enough time with them, he reasoned that he was doing all this for them. But he often yearned to spend more time with his family.

As expected, Father's hard work paid off again and he bought a beautiful condominium overlooking the coast of Singapore. On the first Sunday evening at their new home, Father declared to his family that he decided not to take anymore courses or pursue any more promotions. From then on he was going to devote more time to his family.

Father did not wake up the next day

50 Cent Launches New Headphone Line, “SMS Audio”

Rapper 50 Cent is currently in Dubai, where he launched his custom line of headphones, SMS Audio.

50 Cent's line of headphones will go on sale this November in the country, the rapper said during a press conference. 50 made the announcement during an appearance during the Gitex Technology Week conference that is taking place in the country this week.

The rapper also made an appearance at the Virgin Megastore in the Mall of the Emirates to launch the SMS Audio brand.

There will also be a charity aspect to 50′s business dealings in the Middle East, since a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Dubai Autism Center.
